An option to get closer to Zaragoza is with thematic tours, we have 5 tours made in order for you not to get bored at any moment.
With the first one we will move closer to the Roman Caesaraugusta, in order to do that we will remember the Roman atmosphere by getting closer to the Roman walls, there, will be waiting for us a sculpture which represents perfectly the Roman character presents in the city. It is the Augusta of the First Door, we will explain different aspects of the city thanks to this artwork and later in order to go deeper we will move closer to the Provincial Museum in which we will understand the day-to-day of a Roman from Zaragoza.
Another tour which deserves a special interest is the one which refers to the mudéjar, an artistic style of which Aragon is one of the main example and that is why we didn’t want you to miss it. We will go deeper in this style thanks to the examples which can be found all over the city, even if we will focus on the Cathedral of the Seo and some of the towers which dominate the skyline of the city.
The path of the Imperial Canal of Aragon deserves a special attention, we invite you to go across it in different ways: walking, running or using a bike but with Zaragusta, besides that we will help you to discover a lot of places, for the moment we will present you only one of them to see if you have the bug, it deals with the area of the canal who goes through the plaza, indeed, it will surprise you to discover these natural areas and these parks as for example the Lineal Park of the plaza which will not leave you indifferent.
The leading figure of Goya couldn’t be missing in a thematic visit and it is certain that it represents all a tradition in touristic visits. However, we want you to see it in a different way when we will teach you the frescos in the Basilica of Pilar or when we will explain you the paintings of Camon Aznar Museum or of the Provincial Museum. It is sure that the genius of Fuendetodos (the city where he was born) won’t disappoint you.
Our last visit, not less important, is a generational conflict between two sculptors of our city, those are Pablo Serrano and Pablo Gargallo, both were not competing between them because they were separated by some generations, but their work of art is largely spread in the city. Help us to discover their large sculpture set and we will go deeper with their monographic museum. More information in the brochure Pablo Gargallo vs Pablo Serrano.
Man not only lives with Art but sometimes also needs to recharge his batteries so what do you say if we take you to eat some tapas while we explain you a little of the history of the city of Zaragoza? Gastronomy is a good excuse to know more about a city, if you are motivated, we will take you to the most symbolic places of the Capital of the Ebro.
There is another way to see life and it is also throughout sweets that we can see things in a different way. Zaragoza has a rich sweets’ tradition, we will show you its evolution till nowadays.
We want to surprise you with different proposals that only us are doing that is why we propose you a series of visit through Zaragoza that are in continuous evolution. The first of our proposals is connected with Shopping, we want to be modern and in order to do that we invite you to go through the more fashionable shops of the city. These are not any shops as there are unique, autochthone in which you will have the opportunity to be more creative. So, come with us in a parade of models through the Magdalena and buy you something great. More information in the brochure Shopping Magdalena.
The next stop is a ride on bike through our riverbanks, but it is not any ride, we want you to discover the history of the different bridges which flyover the Ebro, from the modern Bridge of the third millennium till the Azud, you will enjoy a unique experience surrounded by some riverbanks suitable to enjoy our Ebro river, too many times forgotten by the city.
If you prefer something quieter we have another idea called beyond Goya, a suggestive glance, a reference to the exhibition realized in the Lonja some years ago; that glance let me thought about the influence that had had Goya over some of the most important artists in the Art world of Aragon. It is certain that we want you to go with us to see the projection of Goya and others Aragonese genius, as among other Luis Buñuel, Antonio Saura, Victor Mira, Sergio Algora or Felix Romeo, you will probably have more in mind, but thanks to these men, we will know better Saragossa and the deep soul of Goya.
We come to an end of the proposal with the 2008 Exhibition which brought to the city innovative and beautiful buildings, we will show you the most emblematic ones and we will compare it to the 2008 Exhibition with the French and Spanish Exhibition in the Plaza of the Sitios. But we don’t finish our visits there, we have added the Urban Art tour with which we want to show all the mural art that possess the city since the famous Asalto festival. More information in the brochure a century of exhibition and urban art.
Zaragoza, the city of spirits
One of our first mystery tours, in which we are expecting to go across the different parts of the city, where distinguished persons who have had a special relationship with Zaragoza have left traces.
We begin with the Pilar Plaza to remember the martyr of the city who appear on its façade. Then, we will go over the plaza to arrive in front of the Lonja and talk about Goya’s grave and his strange history, indeed the famous painter of Fuendetodos had a relation of love and hate with the city which saw him took his first steps as a painter. Very close to this area, we will speak about the small horse of the Lonja, which hide a very special history which stuck to a photographer during more than 50 years, we want to give life to the spirit of this very special part of the city.
We are still looking for strange places and now it is time to speak about one of the most multifaceted figure of the city, the stop is in the bar Bacarach which name is associated with Sergio Algora who is a musician, writer, poet, among other activities. We will remind his spirit with some music. The next stop is the house of a Nobel Prize which lived in Saragossa, it deals with Santiago Ramon and Cajal. Near to that area, we will enter the tubo area where the Iberian Cabaret El Plata is shining and we want to pay tribute to Bigas Luna and his relationship with the city.
